Hyderabad: Due to negative reviews of Puli in Tamil version, even in Telugu also it got only 90 lakhs at the weekend, Telugu Distributor Shoba said that this is a flop show in Vijay’s career.

‘Puli’ released on October 1st and the movie never had any premiere shows. The delayed release affected the collections of the movie. The Telugu release was even worse. The movie release a day after and due to bad word of mouth from Tamil audience, the movie got sluggish start.

In Kollywood, Sathyam Cinemas main screen is one of the leading screens. A movie shown there will be considered as a prestigious one. ‘Puli’ just managed to run for three days and now it was replaced by Hollywood movie ‘Martian’. Sources say the Box-Office collections have taken a dip and ‘Martian’ has won the battle against ‘Puli’.

Now regarding the poor show in Telugu, Distributor Shobha says, “The movie had a delayed release in Andhra and now the weekend share from Andhra and Nizam is just 90 lakhs. This is just peanuts for an actor of Vijay’s stature. The negative reviews in Tamil Nadu has played spoil-sport.

We are still hopeful of collecting at least the investments. We are promoting the movie aggressively. We are aware that ‘Rudhramadevi’ is releasing  October 9th and it will definitely affect the gross collections. Time will always be the key and I hope that will know the answer.”
