China: An elephant’s skull which is almost six million years old has been found in China’s Zhaotong city, Yunnan region.

The skull which is six million years old of an Elephant has been discovered in China’s Yunnan region. This thing has been reported by media on Saturday. In Zhaotong city fossil was found and carried out by US and Chinese archaeologists.

Wang Shiqi a vertebrate evolution expert with the Chinese Academy of Sicences said that this fossil will tell one million years back history about all kinds of elephants. This study was organized by Archaeologists from CAS and Pennsylvania State University.

Earlier Chinese mastodon fossil has been found in north China’s Shanxi Province. As per latest discovery point out the origin of kind can be in Yunnan and its surrounding, said by Wang.

In November edition of The Journal of Mammalian Evolution, an article has been published about this discovery. This thing has been declared by run Xinhua news agency. However these are useful for those who are willing to know about different kinds of elephants of previous days.

Both CAS and PSU archaeologists are going to research about these Elephants of lifestyle. Source said that coming days may be many fossils will be appeared, with those researchers will get more particulars.
