Chennai: Top Veteran Director Maniratnam Adopted one street which is Surya Nagar Street in Chennai Kotturpuram and helping the people who affected by Chennai Floods.

They are still facing the aftermath effects. Most of them are still earning hard for their daily bread. Various celebrities are providing relief measures to the affected people.

Whole Kollywood takes part active in the relief measures. Everyone donates generously and have also provided lots of funds. Suriya who is a philanthropist donated 25 Lakhs and he started some medical camps for volunteers as well as the victims.Similarly, Director Maniratnam who was out of station also did lots of relief work. It was said that the director doesn’t show in Public, came to streets for rescue. Now Maniratnam and Suhasini Maniratnam on behalf of ‘Naam Iyakkam’ has adopted Surya Nagar which is at Chennai Kotturpuram.

They have officially adopted the whole street. After adoption, they are right now providing daily food and relief items. Suhasini said they are just willing to support few streets. Surya also adopted three Villages on behalf of his trust ‘Agaram Foundation.”
