Mumbai: Senior Bollywood actor Rekha has been felicitated with National Yash Chopra Memorial Award in Mumbai Yesterday. Maharashtra Governor presented this award to her.

She was awarded the 3rd National Yash Chopra Memorial Award for contribution to Indian cinema. Maharashtra state Governor VidhyasagarRao presented the award to the actress. The award constitutes a cash prize of Rs. 10 Lakhs and a gold medal. This award has been instituted in memory of the master director Late Yash Chopra.

Governor VidhyasagarRao praised Rekha saying that Rekha was not only a talented actress but also a good human being. He also pointed it out that Indian movies have more fans all over the world than any other movie industry and urged the film industry people to propel the quality of  Indian Cinema  to world class standard.

Notable stars of the industry like ShatruganSinha, Ranveer Singh, Sridevi, Jayaprada, Boney Kapoor, SubhashGhai, Mohan Babu and Subbarami Reddy were present during this function.

The gorgeous beauty Rekha looked stunning in a radiant golden silk saree. She remembered her association with Yash Chopra. She has acted in a few Yash Chopra movies, the notable being Silsila, in which she starred opposite to Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan. Amitabh Bachchan and LataMangeshkar have been conferred with this award previously.
