The Global NCAP crash test conducted for the 2016 Mahindra Scorpio model scored 0/5 for passenger’s safety.
The Indian Automobile manufacturer Mahindra & Mahindra has a soaring result at the Global NCAP Crash Test. 2016 model Mahindra Scorpio Crash Test has scored “Zero” and failed to prove its safety for the passengers. The test was conducted in order to promote safer cars to the customers.
With the aim of promoting safer cars New Car Assessment Programme popularly known as NCAP has conducted the safety test for some of the Indian car models. Surprisingly, all the cars failed the test. The Scorpio used for testing was not equipped with ABS or airbag. The basic models S2 and S4 are not equipped with the Airbags and ABS technologies. All other variants equipped with ABS and dual front airbags. Mahindra Scorpio SUV was crash tested at a speed of 64 Kmph. The test warns of life-threatening injuries for at least one of the adult passengers.

This is the third time for the Mahindra’s product to undergo for an international testing body’s evaluation in regarding the crash-worthiness. Earlier, in June 2012, the Mahindra XUV500 went for a crash test under the Australian NCAP (ANCAP) before its launch in the continent. The SUV scored 4/5 in the ANCAP ratings which are considered as good.
