Chennai: The popular telecommunication network BSNL Tamil Nadu gets praises from social media and public to operate properly even in heavy Chennai Floods.

Chennai Rains have completely battered the normal lifestyle of people and people were a lot worried due to it. The communication networks were completely down. Most of them struggled to reach the opposite party. But BSNL Tamil Nadu alone never had any problem. Social media is flooded with messages praising BSNL.

BSNL Chief Managing Director Anupam Shrivastava met State Chief Secretary K. Gnandesikan and assured him that BSNL will support in restoring communication lines in Tamil Nadu. As per reports, there were more than 800,000 landlines in and around Chennai and 3000 mobile towers.

Due to torrential rains and floods, just 600 were down and even they were restored with backup power and generator. Still 282 more towers are yet to be restored. Apart from BSNL, Airtel provided some good service.

They also offered free talk time to people of Chennai during floods time. Now in a latest press release,  free SIM cards will be issued under New Vasantham Lifetime Plan.
