Chennai: As Kuttram Kadithal Tamil movie which is a recent release could not perform well at Box-Office, in order to avoid piracy, film makers appointed 22 gym boys to catch pirated DVDs.
Kuttram Kadithal got released last Friday. As the movie never did well at Box-Office, the makers decided to have a parallel online release. The online release was a legal one, if you wanted to watch the movie you have to pay 1.99$ and watch it.
But as Piracy threats are common, the video was taken from online streaming and they are uploaded on net and they come as Pirated DVD’s to market. This is a huge threat and this made Producer J.Sathish Kumar a lot more worried. Pirated DVD’s are easily available on the market.
To stop this piracy, Producer J.Sathish Kumar has appointed 22 gym boys. These guys will keep an eye on red-hot spots where the pirated sales are going on. This is indeed a good move from the producers as he relies on himself and not the Policemen.
Regarding this the producer has issued a statement which reads as,”Kutram Kadithal is a highly respected movie and the movie has got praises from all over the world. To get some collections we made the movie to have parallel online release. But that has paid way for piracy. To stop this my production team has formed an individual team. And strict legal action will be taken on those who still sell pirated DVD’s. Hope Tamil Nadu Police supports us.”
