Bollywood Actor Emraan Hashmi mother Maherahh Hashmi has been passed away yesterday afternoon. She died at a city hospital in Mumbai.

Maherahh Hashmi has passed away on March 11th afternoon. She was admitted at a city hospital in Mumbai when she breathed her last breath. Over a period of time, she was suffering from cancer.

Yesterday Emraan’s uncle and producer Mukesh Bhatt told one of the leading News paper that she passed away this afternoon while suffering from cancer. Emraan  was out-of-town at the time of her mother’s death and after receiving the news he is currently rushing back to Mumbai.

Hashmi made his acting debut in 2003, with Vikram Bhatt’s thriller Footpath.

Hashmi has received three Film fare Award nominations and has established himself as a leading contemporary actor of Hindi cinema in the Bollywood industry.

Before starting his career as an actor, Hashmi worked as an assistant director for a horror film “Raaz” which was released in the year 2002. In the following years, he made his acting debut with a leading role in the crime thriller Footpath and followed it with the erotic thriller “Murder”, which emerged as a box-office hit.

Hashmi subsequently gained recognition for his performance in several critically and commercially successful films.

Emraan Hashmi was born into a Muslim family on 24 March 1979 to the couple – Anwar Hashmi and Mahira Hashmi. Anwar Hashmi was also an actor and was the son of actress Purnima Das Verma.

He is the nephew of producers Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt, and the cousin of director Mohit Suri, actress Pooja Bhatt, actor Rahul Bhatt and actress Alia Bhatt.
