Amitabh Bachchan, Alia and Ranbir to come together for Karan Johar’s Brahmastra

Bollywood’s most celebrated and loved actor, legendary Amitabh Bachchan celebrates his 75th birthday today. Wishes from across the nation including the film fraternity flowed in for the ‘Shahenshah’ of the industry. On the occasion, director Karan Johar presented the fans with one of the most exciting gifts as he announced Dharma Production’s one of the most ‘ambitious’ projects, Brahmastra which will feature Amitabh Bachchan along with Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in lead roles.

Earlier Karan Johar had refuted the rumours that the film featuring the dynamic trio would be called Dragon and now he has finally played his card on Amitabh Bachchan’s birthday. Karan terms the trio as his personal favourites and has worked with them in several movies finally managing to get them on board for one of his biggest flicks which will be directed by Ayan Mukerji. Brahmastra, a fantasy adventure series will be a trilogy the first part of which will hit the screens on 15th August, 2019.

Dharma Productions will collaborate with Fox Star Studios and Namit malhotra’s Prime Focus Limited for Brahmastra. Director Ayan Mukherji in an interview to a news agency had revealed on the movie’s plot and said that Ranbir will have to go through vigorous training regime as the film requires a lot of action shots and physical stuff. The Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani director had said that the movie (Brahmastra) will have romance as one of the elements but would have a completely new flavour to it.

The star trio of Brahmastra is currently busy with their respective schedules; Ranbir is wrapping up Sanjay Dutt’s biopic while Alia Bhatt’s Raazi is set to hit the screens soon. Amitabh Bachchan meanwhile, is busy shooting for Thugs Of Hindostan which also features Aamir Khan.

Earlier on October 10th Karan Johar had announced his collaboration with Akshay Kumar for Kesari which will be a movie based on ‘The Battle of Saragarhi’ and will hit the theaters on Holi, 2019.
