Delhi, June 9: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has raised concern at China’s to Pakistan over the release of 26/11 Mumbai attacks terrorist Zaki Ur Rehman Lakhvi during mutual talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
On Wednesday Prime Minister Narendra Modi during talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), raised concern over China regarding blocking action beside Pakistan over release of 26/11 Mumbai attacks mastermind Zaki-ur Rehman Lakhvi.
Foreign Secretary S.Jaishankar said by addressing reporters that “during Prime Minister Modi meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, both discussed about the issue of Mumbai attacks mastermind Lakhvi’s release and about china’s move to block action against Pakistan. Modi strongly took up issue of China blocking the resolution and he conveyed India’s concerns over the release of Lakhvi”.
It was the fourth meeting between two legendries, the first meeting was held at Fortaleza, Brazil in last July. Along with this issue more topics came up for discussions including boundary issue, issue of maintaining peace and tranquillity, confidence building measures and more.
Prime Minsiter Narendra Modi tweeted after the meeting that “Great meeting President Xi Jinping again. Our talks were comprehensive & a lot of topics came up for discussion (sic)”.
Both leaders are in Ufa, Russia will attend the BRICS summit on Thursday and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit on Friday. As per sources the two leader’s fifth meeting will shows the depth of the India-China relationships.
