Hyderabad, July 13: A couple who has been torturing a 19 years old girl Prathysha had supposed to kill her to receive a property which was registered in her name.

A 19 year old girl Prathysha has been rescued by Police with the help of NGO from their parents clutches here on Wednesday. Police arrested the step mother Chamundeshwari alias Shyamala and was remanded to judicial custody whereas her father Ramesh who is a joint telecom officer in BSNL’s Kothapet circle is absconding, police are seriously searching to find him.

As per details, the LB Nagar Police have revealed that Prathyusha has been tortured for over seven months just because the couple wanted to take property which was registered in her name. The couple has been torturing the girl and they supposed to mutilate her so that she could not get married.

Pratyusha is the only daughter of Ramesh and his first wife Sarala. The girl mother registered a flat in girl name when she divorced with her husband in 2003. Ramesh again married Shyamala in 2008 and two years later Salara passed away. Then the girl who has been staying with her mother was sent to an orphanage.

Girl’s step mother Shyamala wanted that property, so she tried to mutilate the girl in every possible way to grab the property from the girl. The girl said told the police after being rescued that, the couple used to hit her with iron rod, threw acid on her face, made her to drink toilet cleaners, and also rubbed burning cigarettes on her back on a regular basis.

The girl was sent to hospital and the doctors said that she may recover within few weeks apart from her health injuries. Meanwhile police has been searching for father who is absconding and step mother has been sent to judicial remand for attempt to murder.
