69th Indian Independence Day – The National festival observed every year on 15th August, the whole nation celebrate this great event to respect leaders who fought for India’s freedom in the past.
One of the most important days in Indian history is August 15th , 1947, India won freedom on this day after more than 200 years rule of British. Since then, every year 15th August is celebrated as the Independence day in India. Every year it is celebrated all over the country to respect the leaders who fought for India’s freedom.
It took years of efforts to get freedom from British rule and many of leaders including Mahatma Gandhi, Chandra Shekhar Azad, Bhagat Singh, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and many other fought for India’s freedom. Finally we got freedom on midnight of 14th August, 1947. Since then every year the national holiday Independence Day is observed through the country with flag-hosting ceremonies, parades and cultural events.
On 15th August, 1947, the India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru raised the Indian national flag above the Lahore Gate of the Red Fort in Delhi. Since that day, this phenomenon is followed by other subsequent Prime Ministers of India every year.
India is country where millions of people are living together and they belonging to different regions, cultures and traditions. Independence Days is the common festival for Millions of people belonging to different religious groups and it is one of the most important days for every Indian Citizen.
India is counted as world’s largest democracy country, we should feel proud to be an Indian. Independence Day is result of sacrifices of thousands of freedom fighters life. Each and every Indian citizen should celebrate this national festival to respect our leaders who fought for our freedom.
