Shillong: Former President APJ Abdul Kalam, who is well known as people’s president died on 27th July, 2015 Monday evening while taking a lecture at the IIM Shillong.

Sad news for all Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam is no more, nation lost India’s 11th president of India and most eminent scientist Dr.Kalam on Monday evening at a hospital in Meghalaya. Dr. Kalam collapsed during a lecture at the Indian Institute of Management Shillong at around 6:30 PM, immediately he brought to Bethany hospital in Nongrim hills, he was in critical condition in the ICU, after two hours doctors confirmed his death.

As per hospital sources” Dr. Kalam had suffered with a massive cardiac arrest, he was taken to Benthany hospital after he collapsed during lecture at IIM. When he brought to hospital there was no sign of life, he was admitted in ICU to try and recover him but unfortunately after two hours he was expired.”

Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam was born on 15th October, 1931 to a Tamil Muslim family in Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu state. He was the 11th president of India between 2002 and 2007, he considered as the most popular president and he is well known as people’s president.

Mr.Kalam was one of the India’s most prominent scientists, he had unique doctorate from 30 universities and institutions. He has been awarded with highest civilian award Bharat Ratna in 1997 and received popular awards Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan from Government of India. He also the lead of Indian Space Research Organisation apart from this, he headed the country’s guided missile programme for several years.

Mr.Kalam(83) body was shifted to Guwahati in Assam by an Air Force helicopter, then it will be taken to Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will receive his body at Delhi airport. The government has declared a seven-day national mourning as a mark of respect for the Missile Man of India.
