New Delhi, June 8: All India Muslim Personal Law Board or AIMPLB to launch a campaign against Surya Namaskar and yoga which is being made mandatory in government schools.

Executive council of All India Muslim Personal Law Board took the decision of launching a nationwide campaign against Surya Namaskar and Yoga. In most of the regions, this is mandatory in Government school. Apart from this, chances are there for AIMPLB to start it on the occasion of International Yoga Day that to be celebrate on 21st June.

AIMPLB meeting was headed by Maulana Wali Rahmani where he describes with proper explanation regarding what the proper Islamic belief is and why Muslim children shouldn’t be forced to do Surya Namaskar and yoga. However, declaration from the board will be publicized soon.

On Sunday, the AIMPLB meeting was held on Lucknow based Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulema. Apart from this particular concern, the council had also discussed on several other issues. It is also reported that the board also thinking for the option to go to court if it is required.

Kamaal Farooqui, member of AIMPLB board said addressing to meeting that, “Surya namaskar should not be made mandatory in government schools because Muslims bowed only before Allah.”  Court moving proposal was also given by him.

AIMPLB also took some support from other independent organization and their way of thinking was represented in the board meeting. A combine decision was also taken according to which, Maulana Syed Nizamuddin will continue as the general secretary of All India Muslim Personal Law Board.
