Andhra Pradesh, June 24: Andhra Pradesh government decided to operate at least 10 percent of liquor outlets by the government from 1st July this year.
Andhra Pradesh state government has decided to operate at least 10 percent. As per details the government has decided to run at least 10 percent of liquor outlets for 2015-17 financial year, in order to avoid polluted liquor and overcharging of consumers.
There are over 600 mandals in the state, the government has decided to run a liquor shop in every mandal. And the government will also allow the hyper-markets and shopping malls over the area of 10,000 sqrt to establish liquor shops. The Commissioner of Prohibition and Excise has also given permission to selling liquor at Hybrid Hyper markets.
As per Government order State government will issue the authorizations to around 4380 liquor retail shops for 2015-17 financial years which will be valid from July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2017. As per new State Excise Policy, the state government will have the right to run 10 percent of the total outlets.
The licence fee for different population slabs has been fixed, it will charge Rs.30 lakh a year for population of 5,000, Rs. 34 lakhs for 10,000 populations, Rs.37 lakh for 25,000 and it will be Rs.40 lakh for 50,000 people. And Rs.60 lakh is fixed for 5 lakh population.
Application fee to setup liquor shop and for license at rural area is fixed as Rs.30,000, for municipalities Rs. 40,000 and corporations Rs.50,000. Last date to submit application is 26th June, 2015, application will be examined before 28th June and selected applications would be handed over with their provisional licenses on 30th June and they could start their business from 1st July.
Excise Commission Srinivas Sri Naresh said that the new policy was estimated more 20 percent revenue to the department than the previous year turnover Rs.11, 900 crore.
