Hyderabad: Mobile manufacturing unit Micromax is going to start viable operations in Hyderabad from April next and expected to invest Rs 200 crore in three phases.

 Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has given the permit letter to 19 industrialists to start their units in the state. Micromax one among those 19 industrialists has received permit letter from CM on Wednesday and planning to start their units from April 1 next.

Micromax planned a plant at Raviryal near Shamshabad and scheduling to start commercial operations here by April 1 next. The company is likely to invest Rs.200 crore in three phases and anticipated to employee 1000 persons in the first phase. The company is initially planning start the commercial operations with the production of smart phones and LED TVs.

After receiving the approval letter from Telangana CM, Micromax co-founder Rajesh Agarwal said that “the company is decided to set up its second plant at Raviryal near at Shamshabad in Hyderabad, Telangana. The company will invest Rs.200 crore in its three phases for the production of 1 to 1.5 million mobile phones and 50,000 tablets and LED TVs”. The first plant of company is at Rudrapur in Uttaranchal produces 2 million handsets.

The co-founder of Company said after receiving the approval letter from state “the main reason to set up a plant at Telangana state is, the company had a pleasant experience received approval in less than two weeks. The airport connectivity and easy accessibility of knowledgeable manpower were the other factors for the decision”.

He added that, the company is planning for many new models of mobiles for every six months with all price ranges and it would support the prime minister’s Make-in-India mission.
