Famous and well-known vocalist Vasundhara Komkali died on 29th July 2015 at her house in Dewas in Madhya Pradesh. She was 85 years old and she is wife of late Pandit Kumar Gandharva who is also a famous vocalist.
As per reported news, she is suffering from illness for many days and finally she died yesterday at her residence in Dewas. She was at her daughter Kalapini Komkali, who also a vocalist and survived by her from many days.
Vasundhara Komkali received many awards and rewards in her carrier. She is recognized as one of the noticeable Indian Vocalists and received training in Indian Classical music by her husband Pandit Kumar Gandharva and Dr. BR Deodhar.
She has acquired many awards for her excellence in singing and one is consulted by the Sangeet Natak Academy and another one is prestigious Padmashree Award. Basically, she was born in Jamshedpur and later she moved to Kolkata to get training in Indian Classical Singing.
After training, she moved to Mumbai to continue her musical training under the guidance of Prof BR Deodhar and later she is a follower of Pandit Kumar Gandharva who is none other than his husband. She got married in 1963 and later she moved to Dewas.
She was in Dewas for many days and currently she is being survived by her daughter Kalapini Komkali, but unfortunately she breathed last on Wednesday. As per sources, her final rites will held at her village on Thursday at 10 AM.
