Kerala: Onam 2015, the harvest festival for King Mahabali’s return from netherworld every year, Happy Onam Wishes to loved ones and make Pookalam, Ada Pradhaman, eat Onasadya and wear a Mundu.

Onam is the festival that is celebrated in Kerala by all Malayalis which falls in the month of Chingam (Aug – Sep). People here consider Mahabali as their king and this feast is being celebrated from many years as they believe that this is time of this king to return from netherworld every year. Generally on a Onam day, the people celebrates this harvest festival by making a variety of dishes like Onasadya, Ada Pradhaman (Payasam that is prepared from rice and other ingredients).

Onam is also celebrated by making Pookalam which is a flower rangoli. Complete homes of the people will be decorated atleast with one such Pookalam. Apart from this, they also watch a classical Kathakali dance and wear a Mundu. Celebrations make us feel happy and to share that happiness to our dear ones, we wish them on any occasion.
