Chennai: AGS Entertainment has promotion for recent release, Thani Oruvan movie and invested around 3 crores that is against the rules of Tamilnadu Film Producers Council, TFPC.

AGS Entertainment who earlier produced movies like ‘Maatraan’ and ‘Santosh Subramaniam’ has produced ‘Thani Oruvan’ recently. The movie has a huge success and exact Box-office figures are provided earlier.

Despite the huge success, makers are now facing trouble from Tamilnadu Film Producers Council. We reported certain set of rules implemented by TFPC. One among the rule was, a producer can only invest Rs.25 lakhs for TV promotions, Rs.15 lakhs for FM radio promotions.

This rule came as a shock because the makers need to take movie to every nook and corner. From sources we hear that AGS Entertainment has invested Rs.3 Crores for promoting ‘Thani Oruvan’. They also have published paper ads on all leading dailies.

This means they have disobeyed the new rules implemented by TFPC. A meeting between TFPC members took place and council’s secretary Radhakrishnan said that they won’t be co-operating anymore for AGS Entertainment and their upcoming movies. Regarding this, Archana Kalpathi who is CEO of AGS cinemas tweeted, “Hearing reports that #Ags has been banned from producing movies for overspending on promotions for #ThaniOruvan Shocked!”
