Mumbai: Salman Khan starrers Bajrangi Bhaijaan movie is one of the biggest grosser in Bollywood and guess what, it was watched by only 2% of people in theatres. Read full report here.

What if we say that the biggest grosser in past ten years is just watched by 2% of people in theatres? Yes. That is true. Salman Khan’s ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ which made Rs.500 Crores at the Box-Office was watched by only 2% of people in theatres. Report was made by a leading website. The reports give three valid points regarding this shocking statement. They are listed out below.

  1. Whole of Indian Population is 75.5 million. Out of this, just 3.22 Crores people have watched Bajrangi Bhaijaan movie in cinemas. Reason behind this is the number of screens is too low these days.
  2. Another reason is 50 percent of Indian population still has no access to cinemas. PV Sunil who is director and CEO of Carnival cinemas said that only 15% of total screens in India constitute multiplexes and the rest are just single screens. India is struggling to generate revenue as most people have no access to screens
  3. Technology is also blamed. If the movie was made in right way audience will love the experience. But these days most movies are just being ‘Ordinary’ and people prefer to watch it either on Television or pirated copies. Even Television premiere happens within 40 days or 30 days. So it doesn’t matter much to people to see the movie.
