Padma Vibhushan and the Sentiment King of Bollywood, Dilip Kumar was honoured with the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ today by JIFF (Jaipur International Film Festival) for his enormous contribution to the Indian Cinema.
The Jaipur International Film Festival, known as JIFF gave the lifetime Achievement Award to Dilip Kumar, the legendary actor of Bollywood. The very famous actor Anumpam Kher received the award having a reference, shawl and coconut by the Jaipur International Film Festival (JIFF) organising team, done by its founder and the chairman Honu Roz, at the opening ceremony at Golcha theatre there in Jaipur.
In a video message to the people over there, the wife of Dadasahab Phalke Awardee and actress of yesteryears cinema, Saira Bano said, “Dilip sahib will be very happy and feel to be honoured by with this award. Due to doctors ‘ advise not to mingle with crowd, he could not come to Gulabi Nagari (Jaipur) to receive this very award. His health is good after recovering from pneumonia in the past. It is lovely to be honoured for all of us.”
In a very brief note, Anupamkher said, “Dilip sahab was our idol hero and I worked with him 3/4 films…in one of the movies I had received a slap too.” “By giving me his (Dilip Kumar) award to me, a heavy weight is laying on me, there are 30 years to go for me to receive this kind of ward,” Kher said. JIFF also stated another lifetime achievement award to Iranian film-maker Majid Majidi for his outstanding contribution to the cinema.
The actor of Iranian films Malika Ameen received the award on his behalf which carried a excerpt, shawl and srifal (coconut). Actor Pallavi Joshi, Padmshri and the filmmaker Shaji N Karun, National Film Award winner Dr Biju, director Vivek Agnihotri among others were also there all through the event celebration.
