This is combining artificial pancreas technology with transplantation of islet cells and also an islet cell produces the insulin. After examining 14 patients with pancreatitis who underwent standard surgery was improved than multiple daily insulin injections to preserve normal blood glucose levels.

The study also has been finished on 14 patients with pancreatitis go through auto-islet transplantation treatments and closed loop insulin pump was also better than previous injections for maintaining normal blood glucose levels.

“Patients who use this mechanical artificial pancreas after islet transplantation can help the transplanted cells for surviving long and produce more insulin to long” added lead author Gregory Forlenza. He also said that it was our hope coming those technologies will be aid a wide spectrum of patients also contains patients with diabetes in the future.
