For smart city testing, T.Nagar has been selected as the testing site. There has been a huge competition between Sholinganallur, Mylapore. T.Nagar and George Town. T.Nagar comfortably won the race beating all the areas. It is known that T.Nagar is a congested area and it is a pedestrian-friendly shopping area, with a safe and continuous network of footpaths and cycle tracks.

The deadline to present the ‘Smart City Challenge Mission Proposal’ expires this weekend. But Tamil Nadu gets an extension till 28th as the floods have battered the normal lifestyle.

A corporation Official said, “We will install bollards to prevent illegal parking on busy streets. At the same time we have plans to introduce multi-level parking facility. The smart city project can provide a new face to T.Nagar.”
