The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Thiruvananthapuram announced IISER PhD Admissions 2016 notification. Check the eligibility, admission and exam date details.

IISER Integrated Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) programme offered in schools of Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics for the academic session to commence from August 2016. Applications are invited from eligible candidates for this Ph.D Programs.

The selection is based on entrance examination/ Interview for on an all India basis for admission to the said programmes.  Candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria as per rules of admission can apply for this program. After the completion of examination and interview, the qualified candidates have to undergo the course.

Eligibility criteria are as shown below.

For Ph.D in Biology

Bachelor’s degree in Biological/Chemical/Physical/Mathematical sciences with a minimum of 55 percent marks (or a CGPA of 6.0 in the 10 point scale).

For Ph.D in Chemistry

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical sciences with a minimum of 55 percent marks (or a CGPA of 6.0 in the 10 point scale).

For Ph.D in Mathematics

Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics/Statistics/ Engineering/ Technology in a relevant discipline with minimum CGPA of 6.0 (or 55 percent marks).

For Ph.D in Physics

Bachelor’s degree in Physical Sciences, Engineering or Technology with minimum 55 percent marks (or a CGPA of 6.0 in the 10 point scale).

Eligible and interested candidates are required to apply online for this admission test. Applicant need to download the Powerjyoti challan form from the online application page and deposit the required fee at any branch office of State Bank of India (SBI). The last date for submission of applications is January 27, 2016

The names of the shortlisted candidates on the institute’s website will be put on January 29, 2016

The written test will  be held on March 5, 2016

Results will be declared on March 5, 2016
