In a public function, he stated that he and his wife were deeply worried by such incidents and his wife even asked him whether they should settle in the foreign country for the safety of their kids. He also said that he was worried about his wife’s feeling of insecurity.

But soon to his utter dismay, the national parties like BJP and RSS  started reacting angrily to his remarks. They started humiliating him by saying that he is free to leave the country. Repeated attempts by the actor that  his words were misinterpreted fell on deaf ears. It took some time for the dust to settle down.

Recently speaking at a function in Mumbai, Aamir said that India is a land of great diversities. He was born here, and so will die here. He will never leave India for another country.

He also clarified that he never told that India was an intolerant nation or he will leave India. He also stated that whenever he left India for foreign shores to shoot for his movies he always felt homesick after two weeks of leaving India and longed to return back home.
