The sales for Maruti Suzuki S-Cross cars went up with price cuts and refunds.  Maruti Suzuki India had reduced the prices up to INR 2.05 Lakhs and also wishes to refund as a symbol of gratitude. Currently, S-Cross is offered only in diesel option with variants :

1.3-litre MJD diesel engine easily produces 89bhp of max power along with 200Nm of torque with 5-speed manual transmission.

1.6-litre MJD diesel engine generates 118bhp of maximum power and torque of with 320Nm with 6-speed manual transmission

Hoping that the features won’t be treated with major changes, we dare to present you the existing diesel version to be copied for the petrol version too. However, as of now there is not much of clarity about the vehicle. But we anticipate that:

Engine & performance

Could be 1.0-litre Booster Jet engine or 1.4 litre K-Series engine of Maruti Suzuki India.

Design

This may resemble Maruti SX 4 sedan especially from the front . The nose is long in this case as it features a slanting hood, pulled back headlamps, chrome highlighted front grille, sculpted bumper comprising of a skid plate located towards the lower end right in the centre and a pair round fog lamps.

The black plastic treatment in the form of cladding available all around gives the S-Cross a rugged look may be continued. Moving to the sides of the vehicle, a strong shoulder line running right across instantly catches the eye.

Body coloured door handles, outside view mirrors with indicators, silver finished roof rails and an elegant alloy wheel design. While the rear is characterized by a stacked up tailgate which comprises of elegant lights, a spoiler with integrated brake light.

Body coloured bumpers and black plastic along with a skid plate may also be continued petrol version this Crossover.

Interiors

Maruti is known for functional and comfortable interiors. Hope that quality is far better than what we have been used to seeing in any of its vehicles. Interior, dash board the silver inserts that can be found throughout the cabin may be copied for the petrol version too. Leather finished steering wheel with mounted controls, an instrument cluster that features circular dials having silver surrounds on the outside and a blue band on the inside is pleasing to the naked eye.

A Smart Play Infotainment System which is identical to the one offered in the Maruti Ciaz caters to a 7 inch colored TFT display with touch screen function, and has Bluetooth connectivity, AUX-IN and a USB port to mention a few for the diesel S-Cross.

Like quality, the comfort factor right up there in Maruti S-Cross Diesel version, the petrol version may constitute the same. There is ample of space for head, shoulder and legroom in the front, which is generally the case with any car in its segment but the point which stands out the most here is that the rear occupants are not at left cramped for space.  In fact, the boot size is also very generous which would be well appreciated by the customers.

Considering the absence of a rear A/C for the rear seated occupants which seem essential during the peak summer season may be added in petrol variant. For safety features like dual front airbags and ABS as standard fitment may be present.
