The Internet World technology is running faster for the fastest. The internet is one among them. Sadly, India lags behind in this race as there is still more needed to catch up the speed.
Internet World Speeds Increased
In a report by Akamai Technologies Inc, a global leader in content delivery network services released for the Fourth Quarter, 2015,on the State of the Internet Reported that the internet speed has increased by 23% on an average globally. This is approximately 5.6 Mbps in the quarter ended in December 2015 compared to the same period of 2014.
From a global perspective, the average connection speed increased to 8.6% quarter over quarter (QoQ) and 23% in year-over-year (YoY) basis, while the global average peak connection speed increased 1% QoQ, and increased 21% YoY to 32.5 Mbps.
South Korea occupied the top position with highest average connection speed in Asia-Pacific region at 26.7 Mbps while India had the lowest at 2.8 Mbps.
The Indian central government’s aspect of connecting the entire country digitally may improve the situation. The 4G speed in the mobile industry will also boost up the internet speeds used by the consumers. Being a developing country India needs to boost up in this sector. Interestingly the US which stands high among the technology provisions to its citizens did not find the top spot.
Hopefully, Digital India by the next reports will, at least, find a spot better than as of now in the stats of Internet World speeds.
