For a cause to be served – Nadigar Sangam Cricket Match for building construction, a beneficiary Kollywood cricket match is held with the actors.

On the 17th of April, a cricket match is organized for raising the funds to construct a building for the State of Arts by the Nadigar Sangam of the Tamil film industry. The Nadigar Sangam Cricket Match at Chepauk Stadium will be seen Tamil stars playing inspired by the Hong Kong cricket sixes tournament.

The funds raised by conducting the tournament will be fully utilised for the Nadigar Sangam state of the arts building construction. The Kollywood stars are divided into Eight teams with eight captains for the matches organized. Each team consists of 6 players playing 6 overs.

Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan and Tollywood mega Star Chiranjeevi are invited as the chief guests for the Nadigar Sangam Cricket Match. Trisha, Anushka, Nayanthara, Kajal Agarwal and Samantha. Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan will also feature the guests list of the tournament.

Chiyaan Vikram had unveiled the tournament’s trophy earlier. The announced Captains for the teams are

Vishal – Madurai Kaalais
Karthi – Kovai Kings
Jayam Ravi – Nellai Dragons
Jiiva – Tanjai Warriors
Vijay Sethupathi – Ramnad Rhinos
Arya – Salem Cheetahs
Sivakarthikeyan – Trichy Tigers                                                                                     Suriya – Chennai Singams Team

The satellite rights for telecasting the event earned Rs.9 crores and also tickets will be sold for viewing the Kollywood cricket live from the stands of the ground.

On the other hand, Ajith is staying away from the tournament as he is disagreeing with this concept of the raising the funds for the building construction and offers his part without participating in the tournament held. Earlier, Ajith took the same stand when a match was organized in Singapore for clearing the debts of Nadigar Sangam. He himself offered a cheque of Rs.10 lakhs as the volunteer, but the then president Vijayakanth had not utilized the amount for the cause.
