Toyota Innova Crysta Petrol version will be launched at the time of Diwali festival in India. This was officially declared.

Director and Senior Vice President (sales & marketing) of Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), Mr. N Raja has confirmed that Toyota Innova Crysta petrol version will be launched in the Indian Automobile market by the time of Diwali festival.

The Toyota Innova Crysta Petrol version launch was forced because of the Diesel cars ban in Delhi. All the Innova models are above 2000 cc and hence the company is launching the petrol version. The Delhi diesel ban was  opposed by the automobile industry manufactures. But to grab the market they have decided to launch petrol versions too.

At present, Toyota Innova sells a 2.4- and 2.8-liter diesel engine vehicles in India. The vehicle’s price start from Rs. 13.84 lakhs, ex-Showroom – Mumbai.

The other Automobile manufacturers like Mahindra & Mahindra, and Mercedes-Benz have been affected with the Delhi diesel vehicles ban decision. Mahindra immediately launched a 1.99-liter variant of the Scorpio and XUV500 to tackle the situation. Now Toyota is following the same route.

Toyota’s R & D engineers in Japan are working on the new engine specifications so that the Petrol variant of the Crysta can be launched by this year-end in India.

Toyota already sells the all-new second generation Innova with a petrol engine Indonesia and Middle East markets.

The Indonesian market gets a 2.0-liter 1 TR-FE 16-valve DOHC with Dual VVT-i petrol engine develops 139 PS and 18.7 kg-m of torque.

The Middle Eastern markets gets a 2.7-liter four-cylinder petrol engine with Dual VVT-i technology. 6-speed automatic transmission develops 164 PS at 5,200 rpm and 25 kg-m of torque at 4,000 rpm.

The Toyota Innova Crysta has already crossed over 15,000 bookings with a two-month waiting period.
