Visually impaired Simon Wheatcroft who is a marathon runner in the 260 miles race and 83 miles non-stop running race is one of the best examples of using the latest technologies.
Simon Wheatcroft who became blind completely at the age of 17, is using the app called Runkeeper. IBM is offering the cloud service for the app. The app guides the blind persons a lot. IBM and Runkeeper app had helped Simon with navigation for reaching the goal at the race, The audio support is fully useful for the blind. The app with an audio functionality by name Audio Cue.
Simon Wheatcroft with this app inspiration is now developing another app which is useful for the blind and it is named after his pet dog’s name eAscot. He assures that the app that is being built is the one of the most safer for the blind and trustworthy. The app is still in the progress of developing stage. The further details were not disclosed regarding the app. Anyways, the app is being developed by IBM itself.

The opinion expressed by Simon is that for helping the blind an app should contain an audio navigation system which also detects the obstacles that are on the way while a blind person is moving. As per him, there should be some system otherwise, for making the blind hint that there is an obstacle on his way through a vibrating belt around the chest or something like that manner.
