The specifications of the new Tiguan comes as an all-wheel drive SUV. The 4 MOTION Active Control switch which is located on the centre console provides four modes such as Onroad, Snow, Offroad and Offroad Individual.

Sadly, most of the features that are available in the European market will not be carried to the Indian market by the vehicle.

The European markets will get four TSI petrol engines with 123bhp, 147bhp, 177bhp and 217bhp and has a 6-speed manual gearbox. But the Indian automobile market will witness a 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine, with 147bhp and comes with a 7-speed manual gearbox DSG.

The Tiguan is a five seater and later there will be a seven-seater SUV which will be launched soon. The load carrying capacity is 2500 kg.

Tiguan can be placed around Audi Q3, Mercedes-Benz GLA and BMW X1 cost levels as this has to be imported. The Tiguan is a serious launch from the Volkswagen as they are making an entry into the SUV segment in India with the model. This is the second vehicle that is being launched in India with MQB platform besides new-gen Passat.
