Hyderabad, July 9: A special court for ACB case granted for a two days custody of Telangana TDP MLA Sandra Venkata Veeraiah who was arrested by ACB in a connection with the cash-for-vote case.
ACB arrested Telangana TDP MLA Sandra Venkata Veeraiah who has a connection with vote-for-cash and filed a petition to take him into custody for five days. However, the accused field a petition against ACB custody. After hearing arguments of both accused and ACB, special court has granted for two days police custody of MLA.
The two-day police custody begins from 9:00 am on Thursday and end on 4:30 pm on Friday. The court directed the superintendent of Cherlapally Central prison to hand over Sandra to the additional SP, ACB on 9:00 am Thursday after the medical examination of accused by the medical officer in the prison.
Special court has directed the additional SP, ACB to provide bed, bed sheets, pillows and fans to accused during night time and also directed to provide hygienic food and mineral water and to allow the accused to use hygienic toilet and bathroom during custody.
The court ordered the investigation officers to avoid ill-treatment or harassment and ACB is not permitted to apply any third degree techniques against the accused. ACB directed to get the accused who was the no 5 suspect in Cash-for-vote, checked by qualified doctors before 7 am on Thursday and ordered to produce him before the court by 4:30 pm on Friday.
