New Delhi: Ravinder Ahlawat, an ad film director arrested after a complain lodge against him for molesting minor artiste. He was held for relevant IPC section in South Delhi.
A 47-year-old ad-film director has been arrested for allegedly molesting a minor artiste during a shoot at South Delhi’s Fatehpur Beri, the police said on Monday. Accused Ravinder Ahlawat also owns an acting school in Lajpat Nagar. The incident was reported last month, after which Ravinder went missing. He was arrested on Wednesday after he returned to Delhi.
In her complaint, the girl stated that Ravinder molested her on the pretext of giving her acting lessons and also offered her roles in documentaries and ad films. Last month, they went to Fatehpur Beri for a shoot, where he allegedly touched her inappropriately, she stated in her complaint.
When she resisted, he threatened to dismiss her from his group. She had joined the group as a child actor a few years ago, he said.
She further alleged that Ahlawat also asked for sexual favour for a promised role as a child artiste in a Bollywood movie, he said. Ravinder has been booked under relevant sections of IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, the official added.
