From this September, nationalized banks across the country will remain closed on second and fourth Saturday of every month and remaining Saturdays will have work from 10 am to 5 pm.
From this month onwards no bank will have working day on second and fourth Saturday of every month, the center has declared as holiday for banks. To bring cheers on lakhs of bank employees, it has accepted the long-pending demand of workers and declared second and fourth Saturday as holidays.
All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA) General Secretary C H Venkatachalam said that “As of now, they are working on all Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Beginning September, they will have two alternate Saturdays as holidays and have to work from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the first and third Saturdays”
As of now all PSU and private sector banks works half-day on every Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm, to give a relief to bank employees the center accepted the employees demand and announced second and fourth Saturdays as holiday and first and third Saturday will have work from 10 am to 5 pm with this announcement the center is expecting the improvement in the productivity of employees.
If any of months has five Saturdays, bank will be closed only on second and fourth Saturday and remaining as working day. So, the first Saturday holiday for bank employees falls on September 12, 2015 which is the second Saturday of the month.
