Leading Mobile Service provider Aircel is going to expand its network by adding 13,000 2G, 3G and 4G sites across the Country by the end of this year.

Leading mobile service provider Aircel is in a plan to expand their services to offer better customer experience, uninterrupted services and enhanced data speeds. The company has 3G spectrum in 13 circles and Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) or 4G services in 8 circles including Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, Assam, the North East and J &K.

The company, which has pan-India 2G operation, is planning to expand as many as 13,000 2G, 3G and 4G sites across the country by the end of this year. Out of the 13, 000 sites, 5,300 sites are 2G and the remaining 7,700 are 3G and 4G sites. As per sources, 3G sites are planned primarily in regions including Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Kolkata, West Bengal and Odisha and planning to expand 2G services in regions such as Delhi, Bihar and Rajasthan.

Largest mobile service provider Airtel has already launched pan-India 4G services and Reliance, Idea and Vodafone are planning to expand their services soon this year. Aircel became the second telecom operator which launched pan –India 4G services in 2013 after Airtel. The company has its first launch in Chennai, rest of Tamil Nadu and later few other circles. To develop the infrastructure for 4G services Aircel partnered with Chinese 4G equipment supplied ZTE.
