Hyderabad: In a significant discovery, Archaeologists have excavated 16th century’s Summer Palace’ in the Qutub Shahi Tombs complex. Complete report on AKTC excavation project.
Aga Khan Trust for Culture (AKTC) has started the excavation project with the support of Department of Archaeology and Musems, Government of Telangana in the month of September last year. For this excavation project the Ambassador’s Fund for Cultural Preservation (AFCP) has granted the $101 fund.
As per the sources, the department of archaeology and the Aga Khan Trust Culture are started the work together on all fronts, and till now 5-6 percentage of restoration work was completed. As a led to discovery they founded a Summer Palace, which has 400 years history and they are expecting that the Summer Palace to be the accommodation for maintenance staff.
The trust also discovered Garden, Tunnel of 3.25 meters width and Masjid at Qutub Shahi tombs. As a part of exaction project Michael Pelletier, who is the deputy ambassador at the Embassy of the United States of America, visited the excavation site on Friday and said that “We have funded this project through the global fund established by the US government. And we are very happy to know that it led to the discovery of many things which have cultural and historical importance. ”
As per sources, the total exaction works will be finished by this year December, and more information regarding discovery will be announced by the trust after successfully finishing the project in December.
