All the E-commerce websites are drawing up big plans to make maximum profits with their offerings. Amazon India is gearing up for this festive season with its Great Indian Festival. The company has made an announcement on Thursday that it would host its annual sale event. Great Indian Festival by Amazon India will host the biggest sale from 1 to 5 of this October.
Eventually, its business competitor Flipkart has also announced its move to grab the customers in this festive season. The sale event by Amazon coincides with Flipkart’s Big Billion Day which takes place from 2 to 6 October. Amazon has mention in a statement earlier that the Great Indian sale comprises of offers on a wide range of products from tablets, smartphones, PCs, laptops, musical instruments, books, stationery products, toys, baby products, shoes to beauty products, pet products, clothing and accessories, gourmet foods and gardening accessories.
Amazon’s step of hosting the event around the same dates as if its Indian rival Flipkart’s BBD would be a tough competition for two. However, Amazon is already in the lead in the game as it reportedly overtaken the Flipkart monthly sale over the last two months.
“We are delighted to celebrate this with our customers as much as with the entire ecosystem of our sellers, vendors, and partners to bring festive cheer all over the country. These marathon 120 hours of the event mark our continuing commitment to work closely with our partners and together bring the biggest sale yet for our customers, with the best shopping experience powered by Prime,” says Amit Agarwal, vice-president and country head, Amazon India.
Other Indian rivals such as Snapdeal are also setting up their strategies for large sales in this festive season, and the details on their plans are yet to be shared. Amazon stakes are always higher when compared to Flipkart even after summing its other possessions Jabong and Myntra. Hope this Diwali would be a great season to make sales more than a quarter in this financial year.
