Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu at a meeting by State Cabinet announced Amaravati as the new capital of Andhra Pradesh.

CM,  Chandrababu Naidu took the decision of making Amaravati as the new capital of Andhra Pradesh has been taken in the State Cabinet meeting that was conducted recently.

“In today’s meet we decided to name Amaravati as the new capital of Andhra Pradesh,” Mr Naidu said.

The new capital city will get its look from June as the Singapore government agencies are trying hard to make it with “goodwill gesture”.

It will have three rings, namely

  • Core capital region
  • Capital area
  • Larger capital region

As Hyderabad will be the joint capital of the two states, Telanaga and AP for only the next 10 years, Babu decided to built the new capital of AP as soon as possible.

Amaravati – Insights

The town, Amaravati is the home for Satavahana dynasty 2000 years ago. The ancient town is 500 km from Hyderabad.

A famous Stupa was also built during the rule the emperor Ashoka.

The city is located on the banks of Krishna riverand name of the town was derived from Amareshwara Temple that is situated in a village of Guntur district.

Naidu also said, “The farmers have voluntarily given 33000 acres to build the new city, we will make it the best city in the world”.
