After Shah Rukh Khan, it is now Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani that has been caught with into trouble. Owing to the wrath of the descendants of Chhatrsal and Peshwa dynasty, the film is now under hot water.

The Bharatiya Janata Party Yuva Morcha is holding a protest against Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani screening at Pune. Because of these issues, the screening of the movie at the Pune’s City Pride theatre was cancelled consequently for three shows. According to the reports, the BJP party allegedly miffed with the portrayal of Bajirao in the movie. Around 200 protesters gathered at the theatre front, alleging the distortion of Indian history.

The political protestors at the theatres made enough fuss, leading to the cancellation of shows on the opening day. Previously, the descendants of Peshwa dynasty made protest for the movie at Shaniwar Wada, the ancestral capital of Peshwas and also filed a case against the movie.

The protestors condemned the filmmakers for their promotional videos and songs, particularly the Pinga song for distorting history. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period drama features Ranveer Singh, Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone and chronicles the story of the warrior Bajirao.
