Bengaluru: The city police are likely to launch a safety app for women and Children similar to the one that already exists in Delhi. This app will be available for both Android and iPhone users.
Delhi police have launched a mobile app named Himmat for woman safety. This app is available for both Android and iPhone users. Bengaluru city police has inspired with that app and expecting to launch a safety app for women and Children similar to Delhi Himmat app.
DG and IGP Om Prakash said in an interaction meeting organised by Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) that, the city police are likely to launch safety app for women and children for an immediate response.
According to the information city police has planning launch an app similar to Himmat app which was launched by Delhi Police with numbers for WhatsApp and Hike messengers and it can be available for both Android and iPhone users. As per the application, once SOS is activated from the app, it will reach the two nearest police vehicles and the nearest police inspector. The app will also be associated with DCP and control room after some time. With this alert the police will immediately reach the victim’s location.
As per sources, the city police are planning to launch the app in Bengaluru within a month and later in Karnataka. The Bengaluru police are also in the process to set up FIR kiosks all over the city and planning launch one more mobile based application to help police in proper investigation.
