Chapekar Brothers Movie Review: Here’s what Critics talk about the Film

Chapekar Brothers is an upcoming Hindi drama based on the story of three brothers related to Maharashtra who involved in a political revolution against British Plague Commissioner of Pune, WC Rand. It was directed by Kumar Pandey and produced by Ghanshyam Patel under Giriva productions. The movie stars Abhijit Bhagat, Sanjeet Dhuri and Manoj Bhatt in lead roles as Chapekar Brothers. The story and screenplay have given by Dhiraj Mishra.

Chapekar Brothers belong to a small village Chapa who is nearer to Pune of the Indian state of Maharashtra. In 1896, whole Pune was attacked by severe Bubonic Plague which is also called as Black Death. By the end of February 1897, half the city’s population had left due to an increase of plague.

The story showcased the revolution of three Chapekar brothers in 1896 killing of the British Plague Commissioner of Pune, WC Rand. The film shooting has wrapped up by the end of July 2016 and due to few controversies, it was delayed. Finally, it has arrived into theaters today to overcome many issues. The film has delayed by the censor board by raising few issues during the screening. The main reason for the delay is one scene in the film in which one of the Chapekar Brothers was killed a Christian missionary for forcing Hindus to convert to Christianity.
