Kensington Palace, UK, 5 May: Kensington Palace said, “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have named their daughter Charlotte Elizabeth Diana.” Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte of Cambridge.
The birth of the royal princess was on Saturday in the Lindo Wing of London’s St Mary’s Hospital. Yesterday afternoon, it was marked with gun salutes across London. Along with this, there was a 62 gun salute at Tower Bridge.
Before the announcement was made public, the Queen and other Royal family members informed name of the baby yesterday.
United Kingdom Prime Minister David Cameron congratulated Royal family for this auspicious occasion. In his message he said, “Always liked the name Charlotte! It’s a lovely name, and it must be such a precious time for this young couple.”
Spokesperson from the Kensington Palace said on Sunday that, “The duke and duchess are hugely grateful for the messages of congratulations they have received from people all over the world. It means a great deal to them that so many people have celebrated the arrival of their new daughter.”
Coming to the Royal family feelings, Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall spent a splendid time with their granddaughter. The duchess’s parents, Michael and Carole Middleton and sister Pippa also assembled in this occasion.
