Kabali Producer Kalaipuli S Thanu approached Tamilnadu High Court for preventing the piracy of the movie in online.
The latest Tamil and Telugu Kabali film will be released on July 22nd, 2016. Film producer Kalaipuli S Thanu has moved to the High Court of Tamilnadu seeking preventive measures from illegal movie downloads from the Internet.
Justice N Kirubakaran of Tamilnadu High court on Friday has passed an interim injunction restricting 169 Internet Service Providers (ISP) in the country from giving access to illegal websites that indulge in Kabali piracy. The copy of the same has been dispatched to the Central government and other state governments in India returnable by August 8.
With this Interim order the ISPs in India will be restricted from exhibiting, releasing, projecting, screening and providing platforms for downloading the Kabali film. The producer has claimed that the ISPs had drastically improved the latest technology in the field of films, mainly to facilitate online piracy. Kalaipuli also intimated that approximately 70 percent of their revenue comes from such illegal downloads
Justice also remarked that “This court would like to point out that the cinema industry has got a reciprocal obligation to the society.Youths are made to believe that they can win over an urban girl by constant stalking, and when they fail in their attempt, they are unable to withstand the frustration and they resort to committing crimes.”
