Hyderabad: 39 female victims including 8 minors have been rescued by the Crime Investigation Department (CID) from a group of human trafficking at Gowtham Nagar, Chandrapur district in Maharashtra.

The Crime Investigation Department of Telangana police have arrested the 44 alleged human traffickers who involved in sex racket and saved 39 women including eight minor victims at Maharashtra.

A Satyanarayan, additional DG (CID) said that, investigators conducted rides in the neighbouring state Maharashtra on 22nd July, 2015, about 46 were found to be involved in sex racket, out of which 44 are arrested and they have been send to remand in judicial custody for 15 days. Out of 46 accused 30 are females, among those 12 are from Telangana state, 13 are from Maharashtra , 2 are from Andhra Pradesh and 2 are from Tamil Nadu and 7 minor boys who were assisting the traffickers in the brothel house also found .

CID saved 18 major victims and 6 minor victims who belong to Telangana, 11 major and 2 minors of Maharashtra and one major each belonged to Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. CID conducted the rides with 138 personnel including members from the Department of Women and Child Welfare, Medical and Health department and the members of Prajwala.

Those 30 victims along with minors were sent to Prajwala and Ujwala rescue home, five were sent to Uppal home and more four to Kasturba Gandhi memorial trust.

According to the sources police rescued 607 victims and registered 422 cases in this year and police arrested 671 traffickers and 325 customers. The department directed the government to set up anti-human trafficking units in each districts. Currently, there are three such units in the states.
