Bollywood ace film maker and director Farah Khan has been with Faten Hamama Excellence award at 37th Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) for her contribution and excellence in Indian cinema. This is a 10-day film festival honor the works of late Egyptian icons Faten Hamama, Nourel-Sheriff and Omar Sharif.

Apart facilitating her, the festival has screened her super hit film Om Shanti Om in the event. It’s going to be a double whammy for Farah who’s eagerly looking forward to attend the film festival. Besides being felicitated at the CIFF, the organizers have also planned a big premiere of one of her most successful films – Om Shanti Om (OSO) to be attended by the who’s who of the Egyptian film industry. In addition to that, there will be performances of Farah’s songs to welcome her on stage.

The opening night of the festival had a huge screen playing the montage of OSO. Farah Khan said, “I feel that it’s an honor for the Indian film industry to take our movie or a director to give an award at an international film festival. I think it’s great for the entire industry.

Asking about Om Shanti Om film she said, “It is special for me in many ways. I was pregnant with my babies and shooting at the same time. Also, it was a very happy time as the whole industry came to do a song in the film. It was my most critically acclaimed film”.
