The State Education Boards have agreed to declare the higher secondary examinations Class 12 results to be declared by May 31 from the year 2016 onwards. A new decision has taken by the HRD Ministry to avoid delays in counselling for admissions to centrally funded technical institutes through JEE.
The meeting was called by the HRD Ministry. However, no decision has taken regarding the announcement of high board exam scores. The Council of Boards of School Education in India (COBSE) would hold another round of meeting next month to carry forward the discussion regarding score marks.
Approximately 8,917 of the 12 lakh candidates who appeared in the CBSE Class 12th board exams this year had secured more than 95 per cent of marks. As the delay in declaring class 12 results by state boards during the year 2015, has led to the postponement of the counselling for NITs, IITs and other centrally funded technical institutes.
During the meeting, the state boards, however, agreed to the Human Resource Development Ministry’s suggestion for declaring the higher secondary results / Class 12 results to be declared by May 31 every year. By doing this, the information or data relating to students’ marks was tabulated by the CBSE in time before the counselling starts for NITs, IITs and other centrally funded technical institutes. So, that student may benefit with this and get admission with in time.
