Dear Dad Review: Story of a Gay Dad and Son

Dear Dad Review, The father-son relationship at the start itself seems quite unconvincing and average rating 2.5/5.

Here Dear Dad Review tells the story revolves around Nitin Swaminathan (Arvind Swamy) and his family consisting of his older son Shivam (Himanshu Sharma), daughter Vidhi and wife Nupur. While from the look of it, they look like the perfect family, there is a startling revelation that Nitin has to make and talk to his son about.

On the way to school, they stop at Nitin’s parents’ house where Shivam gets to know about his father’s alternate sexuality. His vision of a perfect family comes crashing. Will he be able to accept his father again?

There are moments when Shivam is angry and hurt. He wants his family to be perfect; he is not ready to accept the fact that his parents will now go through a divorce and he is naturally angry.

The problem with this film is that it keeps an awfully slow pace. We know the director wants to establish his emotional story well, but unfortunately, it drags much before making a point. Director Tanuj Bhramar could have explored gay relationships deeper. After lazying around for most of the film, towards the climax, Bhramar’s film suddenly goes off the main plot with a highly superficial climax. This movie getting an average rating of 2.5 out of 5.
