Chennai: Dharmapuri Caste Violence that rocked the state of Tamil Nadu is going to be a movie that is to be directed by Raju Murugan who worked as an assistant directed and a journalist, now as director.
Raju Murugan is a renowned director in Kollywood. Even though he is just one movie old, he has earned lots of reputation for himself. He worked as an assistant director to Lingusamy. He worked as an assistant for movies like ‘Bheema’ and ‘Paiyaa’ and later as a journalist for ‘Ananda Vikata’ magazine.
He made his debut with the movie ‘Cuckoo’. It is a romantic drama genre and the movie was funded by Fox Star Studios. Dinesh and Malavika Nair did the lead roles. Initially Nandita Swetha was roped in, but she rejected the offer and Malavika Nair filled her shoes.
Aadukalam Murugadoss did a very important role. The movie opened to positive reviews. The movie opened to positive critics and earned Raju a good name in the industry. Now Raju Murugan is working as dialogue writer for Karthi – Tamannaah starrer ‘Thozha’.
The director is back to direction after a year and this time he has taken a sensitive subject. His second directorial venture will be based on the Dharmupuri caste violence that rocked the state of Tamil Nadu. The story is between a boy and girl from different caste and how caste violence spoiled their love is the rest of the story. The boy committed suicide by jumping in front of train.
