Digital India Scheme is to Focus Education Via Technology – Union Ministry

New Delhi: Digital India Scheme is to focus more on education than technology, says Union Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad. Its nothing but focusing on India education system through technology.

Union Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad attended the meeting at Hotel Taj Palace on Monday in New Delhi. While addressing the meeting, he said that as a part of focusing Digital India Scheme which was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Government is focusing on Technology in Education Field and Health Sector.

Prasad Said “Our Government is focusing on two major influences through Technology, Health and Education. Total 1.5 lakh community service centers have been started for understanding the Digital India Effect and I think people also have started and understand the concepts of Digital India”.

He also spoke about Education System in India. The quality of education will never grow until we have the quality and good teachers. Digital Indian scheme will change the education and technology aspects in our country. He also said that 2.5 lakh Panchayats in the country were being digitally connected so that people were digitally authorized. “We are planning to lay optical fibers to connect 2.5 lakh Gram Panchayats and create a biggest infrastructure in India” added by minister.

The minister also notified that, up to now 70,000 Km optical Fiber had been laid in the country. India has population of 127 crores, in that there are 98 crore mobile phones are using and we added 50 lakh phones every year. Speaking on digitization in Government schools, he said that the Government has never denied the students studying in Government schools and plans will be proposed in this regard.
