Chennai: Recent Kollywood release ‘Uttama Villain’ has bagged several awards at Los Angeles Independent Film Festival Awards, director Ramesh Aravind thanked Kamal Haasan for that.

‘Uttama Villain’ is comedy-drama genre featuring Kamal Haasan in lead role. The movie was directed by Ramesh Aravind. The story is written by Kamal Haasan. Director N.Lingusamy produced the movie along with Raajkamal Films International.

The movie features a stellar cast of actors like K. Viswanath, K. Balachander, Jayaram, Andrea Jeremiah, Pooja Kumar, Nassar, Parvathy, Parvathy Nair and Urvashi. This is also the last movie for Late.K.Balachander. Ghibran scored tunes.

Technical team comprises of Shamdat for cinematography and Vijay Shankar for editing. The movie was sent to an Award function in Los Angeles Independent Film Festival Awards. In the festival the movie won several awards. They are listed below,

Best Film – Uttama Villain

Best Actor – Kamal Haasan

Best Original Music – Ghibran

Best Song – Ghibran

Best Sound Design – Kunal Rajan

The movie even won award for ‘Best Music’ in Russian International Music festival. As the movie won several awards, the debutante Ramesh Aravind is happy. He has given due credits to Kamal Haasan. He said, “The movie never did well at Box-Office. But I am happy at least now it is getting due recognition.”
